Memorial Day Parade
Potter Valley Youth and Community Center is the proud sponsor of the Memorial Day Rodeo Parade. The theme for this year's parade is Red, White, and Groovy! This year it will be held on May 26, 2012 which marks the 66th Annual Rodeo Weekend!
There are 15 categories: Autos, Band, Business/Commercial, Cart/Bicycle, Costumed Horse (Jr and Sr.), Fire Department/CDF, Horse Drawn Vehicle, Marching Group, Mounted Group, Non-competitive, Pet Parade, Tractor/Mower, Working Cowboy, Working Cowgirl and Wee-ones (8 years and under), class competition, and other.
First Place will receive a trophy and $75. Second Place will receive a trophy and $50. ‘Best Theme’ will be given a trophy and $50. Class competition winner will receive a trophy and the funds collected from the school.
This year we have added a new category to the parade; PV School class competition! This category is only for classes that are going to participate in the class competition. The students at PV School were asked to donate $2 each, if possible, to go towards a "money pot" that will be given to the winning class or classes of the parade competition. If you would like to donate to this fund, please call Grace at 743-1789 for arrangements. Thank you!
