Fifth Day
Potter Valley Schools switched to a four day school week. PVYCC and Potter Valley Community Unified School District have teamed up to coordinate the Fifth Day Program. The Fifth Day Program runs four 9 week sessions throughout the year. Each session is broken up into two classes; the first class begins at 12:45pm and runs till 1:45; the second class runs from 2:00-3:00pm. Students sign up 2 weeks before the next session to ensure a spot. The classes are run by community members volunteering their time, PVYCC staff and outside organizations (ARCH – Alliance for Rural Community Health). Students have the option to participate in sports, science, arts and crafts, nutrition, gardening, board games, etc.; all of the classes are in areas of enrichment. High School students wishing to fulfill their community service hours for graduation are welcome to volunteer in the after school and Fifth Day Programs. For more information on the Fifth Day Program or Volunteer options please contact the center.
